Pictures from my most recent visit to see Susu's house on Wolfe Island

The house is really great - there's tons of light in every room. The floors are heated so it's nice to wander around barefoot. From the inside you can only tell that it's a straw bale house from the window sills - which look vaguely cave-like.
In case you're wondering: yes, that is a car seat in the upper right hand photo. Susu doesn't have much furniture yet: typical Susu Solution. The floor behind it is covered with planks because there's a goldfish-pond-in-waiting underneath. She's decided not to fill it with water for the next few years, until the grandchildren / puppy aren't prone to wander in and drown.
The well water is amazing: it's better than any brand of bottled water I've tasted. Susu introduced me to the fellow who doused to find her well location. He's an elderly Dutch gentleman who spins llama wool.
On the Sunday morning we went for a drive and saw a herd of deer crossing the road. Next week I'll post a link to the very shaky movie footage I took of their crossing.

Susu has decided to adopt a Staffordshire Terrier puppy to keep her company on Wolfe Island. We'll pick up the little male pup from the breeder in late February when it's eight weeks old and keep it at our house for a few weeks, until it's trained.

Puppy names under consideration:
Bruce Lee (Susu said no)
Danny Boy (we think it's wimpy)
Shakespeare
Einstein
Oscar
Kojak (my favourite but an unlikely choice)
